Mrs. Shirley Bone Landers Edwards, 61, former Columbia resident, died Monday, December 25, 2006 at her residence in Franklin. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Tom Lovell officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols and Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Edwards was the daughter of Mrs. Dorothy Anderson Bone and the late Lester Bone. Born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, she came to Columbia with her family as a child. She was active in youth activities and social affairs and was a 1963 graduate of Columbia Central High School. She earned her Masters Degree in Education from Middle Tennessee State University in 1990. Her teaching career included Highland Park Elementary School in Columbia, Marshall County Elementary School, Franklin Special School District, and Signal Mountain Elementary School in Chattanooga. Mrs. Edwards later was certified as a realtor and was associated with Century 21 in Dunlap, and Coldwell Banker, Andrews & Associates in Nashville. She was a member of the Nashville Association of Realtors and Chattanooga Association of Realtors. She was a member of Bellevue Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband, George William "Bill" Edwards, Jr. of Franklin; daughter, Bethany Landers (Tracey) Harbin of Franklin; son, Harold Moore "Hal" (Millie) Landers, Jr. of Columbia; step-daughters, Natalie (Steve) Raney, Lisa (Marc) Turner of Tampa, Florida, Tricia (Mike) Banks of Alexandria, Virginia; her mother, Dorothy Anderson Bone of Columbia; three sisters, Sharon Bone (Bob) Wills of Woodland, Georgia, Charlotte Bone (John) Alderson of Columbia, Judy Bone (Woody) Pettigrew of Madison, Alabama; two brothers, Warren (Debbie) Bone of Pegram and Wayne (Melinda) Bone of Columbia; grandchildren, Raegan Elizabeth Harbin, Allyson Moore Harbin, Liza Brent Harbin, Ansley Layne Harbin, Maggy Lynn Landers, Farrar Watson Landers; step-grandchildren, Gunnar William Raney, Jack Carlton Raney, Landon Elizabeth Turner, Carson William Turner, Abby Jeanne Turner, Ella Marie Banks, Carly Ann Banks; several nieces and nephews.
