View Funeral WebcastShirley Williams Palmer, 67, of Ethridge, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Jason Love officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born September 9, 1950 in Columbia, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm Williams and the late Elora Hill Williams. She was one of ten children and enjoyed memories of her family. On February 14, 1965 she married her childhood sweetheart, William Ray Palmer and they have shared 51 years of marriage together. A devoted wife and mother, Shirley had a strength that was infectious, loved her faith, family, and life. In addition to her husband, William Palmer; survivors include her children, Sharon Ann (Randy) Tosh of Columbia; James Edward Palmer of Ethridge; and Sarah (Brandon) Moss of Pulaski; sisters, Juanita (Dan) Buie of Columbia; and Kathy Johnson of Columbia; brothers, Malcolm Warden Williams, Jr. of Lebanon; James Arling Williams of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Charles Williams of Columbia; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Billy Ray Palmer; sister, Mildred Williams; and brothers, Murray Williams; David Williams; and Clyde Williams. Active pallbearers will be Nathan Tosh, Ryan Tosh, Blake Hight, Brandon Moss, Ricky Savage, and Randy Tosh. The family would like to express a special thanks to Maury Regional Medical Center nurses of the 2nd floor ICU Step-Down, Dr. John Wheelock, and Ricky and Julie Savage.
