Shirley Elnora Chandler Wills, 84, wife of Gene Wills, and resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025 at her residence.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 14, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home with Charles Buck Sisk officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 4:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home. Online condolences may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com.
Born November 23, 1940 in McKenzie, TN, she was the daughter of the late Earnest Alfred Chandler and the late Ocie Taylor Chandler. She married the love of her life Gene Wills in 1959, and spent 37 wonderful years together. They went on to own Wills Towing and Automotive for many years until she retired in 1995. Shirley loved being with her whole family, especially all her grandchildren and would cook for them whenever she could. She enjoyed going to church, loving the Lord, and being with her church family. Shirley was a member of the Temple Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Tammy) Wills, Linda (Michael) Davis; grandchildren, Tiffany (Rodney Fields) Davis, Brandi Wills, Maranda (Derric) Feldt; great grandchildren, Logan (Rylee) Davis, Mason Davis, Journey Moss, Jaxon Fields, Callan Feldt; great great grandchild, Loretta Davis; siblings, Robert (Charleen) Chandler, Laurel (Roy) White, Patsy Smyser; and many nieces, nephew, and cousins.
In addition to her husband, Gene Wills, and her parents, Shirley is preceeded in death by her sister, Carol Leahy.
Active pallbearers will be Logan Davis, Rodney Fields, Mason Davis, Jaxon Fields, T.J. Ayers, and Derric Feldt. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenneth Davis, Douglas Tracy, Jefferson Davis, Christopher Davis, Colton Davis, Mike Bray, Steve Farris, Stan Farris, and Nelson Roberts.
The family would like to give special thanks to Nurse Jennifer for all her help and care.
