STEPHEN PATRICK SMITHStephen Patrick Smith, 50, retired customer service representative for Memphis Light - Gas & Water Company and resident of Memphis, died October 3, 2003 at Methodist North Hospital in Memphis.Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Neapolis United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Noble officiating. Burial will be in the Neapolis Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols and after 12:00 Noon Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Neapolis Cemetery Association, in care of Mildred Robinson, 91 Hilltop Drive, Columbia, 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. He was a native of Franklin in Williamson County and attended Memphis State University for 3 years. Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Ann Foster Smith of Memphis; a son, Michael Joseph Smith of Memphis; three brothers, Michael Loyd (Ramona) Smith of Hendersonville, Donald Bryan Smith, II and Richard Lee Smith, both of Memphis; an aunt, Mildred Church Robinson of Columbia; a niece, Katelyn Marie Smith of Hendersonville. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Bryan Smith, Sr.; a brother, James Robert "Jimmy" Smith; maternal grandparents, Vernon and Elizabeth Butler Foster; paternal grandparents, Robert I. and Vechal Maynard Smith.Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
