Mr. John Steven "Stevie" Parker, 52, former employee of The Daily Herald and Big Johns BBQ, died Sunday, June 17, 2007, at Alive Hospice in Nashville. A graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 noon Saturday at Lynnwood Cemetery with Rev. Bill Highsmith officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 10:00 - 11:30 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Fort Knox, Kentucky, he was the son of Linda Ann Weatherford of Nashville and the late John Gordon Parker. He was a 1974 graduate of Columbia Central High School and a member of Tusculum Hills Baptist Church. In addition to his mother, he is survived by five step grandchildren, Amber Spain, Amanda Spain, and James Spain, all of Nashville; Trey Clarity and Cole Clarity, both of Murfreesboro; one sister, Sondra (Tom) James of Idaho; Gary (Mary) Black of Rutledge, Tennessee; four aunts, Betty Hubbell, Sara Weatherford, and Jo Ann Weatherford, all of Columbia; Betty Guy Weatherford of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; and four nephews, Jeremy Black, Cole Black, Clete Webb, Stephen Webb. He was preceded in death by three aunts, Hazel Roland, Margaret Rich, Okie Mayo; and six uncles John Weatherford, Ray Weatherford, Don Weatherford, Johnny Rowland, T. K. Rich, and George Mayo. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
