View Funeral Webcast Susan Thersea Curtis McNichols, 83, retired director of child care at Trinity Lutheran Church and resident of Columbia, died Friday, June 17, 2022 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 3:00 P.M. at Highland Park Baptist Church. An inurnment will be held in Rose Hill Cemetery. Born October 18, 1938 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Daniel H. Curtis and the late Virginia Fouts Curtis. On August 27, 1958, she married Charles Delos McNichols who preceded her in death November 2009. Mrs. McNichols attended Columbia State Community College LPN program, was former Girl Scout Leader, and 40 & 8 American Legion member. She was an avid reader. Mrs. McNichols was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include her son, Charles David (Sabrina) McNichols of Columbia; daughter, Stephanie (David) Hancock of Columbia; brothers, Dan (Margaret) Curtis of Ringgold, Georgia; Larry (Jo) Curtis of Soddy Daisy; grandchildren, Alisha Burch of Alabama; Josh Williams of Alabama; Greg McNichols of Columbia; Ethan Hancock of Columbia; step grandchildren, Ashley (James) McGuire of Kentucky; Ryan (Ashley) Nieuwenhuis of Tennessee; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Judy C. Wilson. Honorary pallbearers include 40 & 8 American Legion members, and the Sunshine Ladies.
