View Funeral WebcastTerry Lee Tuckerman, 66, retired journeyman and tool & die maker at General Motors and resident of Cornersville Road in Lynnville, died Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Blake Hawthorne and Elder David Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Lynnwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family c/o Janet Tuckerman, 4580 Cornersville Road, Lynnville, TN 38472. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born September 14, 1949 in Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of the late Melvin Tuckerman and Ida Pfaff Tuckerman. On May 2, 1981 he married Janet Kay Ries who survives. Mr. Tuckerman enjoyed restoring old Allis Chalmers tractors, building beautiful street rods, and working at Hot Rods & Threads in College Grove. He was an avid NASCAR fan, favoring Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. During his life, Terry touched many lives by his positive outlook, kind smile, and loving heart. He will be remembered as a good baby brother, son, husband, father and a great poppa. He was a member of Lynnville Presbyterian Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Joycelyn (Jack) Wilson and Crystal Jean Tuckerman, both of Toledo, Ohio; Loretta Lynn (David) York of Columbia; sons, Nick (Suki) Nichols of Arlington, Texas; Bruce (Mindy) Ellis of Lawrenceburg; Edgar Lewis Ries, III of Lynnville; Gene Everett (Michele) Ries of Pulaski; grandchildren, Michael, Justin, Eric, Christopher, Sunni, Aaron, Devin, Cathy, Justin, Amber and Poppa's pit crew: Brittany, Ty, T.J.; twelve great grandchildren; special nephew, Mel John (Crickett) Tuckerman of Arlington, Texas; sisters, Martha (Elwood) Neiman of Malakoff, Texas; Lorene (Robert) Zumbrunn of Lynnville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sister, Joyce Zeilger; brother, LeRoy Tuckerman; and best friend, Rick Morphew. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
