View Video Tribute Thomas Richard "Downtown/Tommy" Brown, Jr., 58, employee of Appalachian Claims Service in Knoxville, died Thursday, March 15, 2012 at his residence in Culleoka. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols with Corey Bell, Tim Pittman, and Ray Kuykendall officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of Frances Jean Church Brown Smith of Culleoka and the late Thomas Richard Brown. A Culleoka High School graduate, Mr. Brown earned an Associates Degree at Columbia State Community College and a Bachelors Degree at Middle Tennessee State University. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Susan Lynn Hayes Brown of Culleoka, whom he married July 26, 1974; two sons, Harold Richard (Jessika) Brown of Santa Fe; Chase Jackson (Stacey) Brown of Culleoka; two sisters, Cynthia (Sonny) Hargrove and Lori (Keith) Farmer, both of Culleoka; and three grandchildren, Hannah Joslin Brown and Jaycie Haylin Brown, both of Santa Fe; Jackson Thomas Brown of Culleoka. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nannie Lou Church Gilliam, Harold B. Church, Thomas Willie Brown, and Rosa Renegar Brown. Active pallbearers will be David Henson, Charles Garner, Billy Thomas, Ray Kuykendall, Mark Murdaugh, Tim Pittman, Jeff Hunt, Sanford Marbry, Billy Kelly, and Mike Vandiver.
