Thomas Hodge “Tommy” Cook III, 83, retired co-owner of Moody's Tire & Auto Service in Franklin, TN and lifelong resident of Columbia, died Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 11, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Peyton, Pastor Matthew King, and Pastor Mary Beth King officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday, November 11, 2024 from 1:00 PM till 3:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.

Born February 23, 1941 in Columbia, TN, he was the son of the late Thomas Hodge Cook Jr. and the late Mary Rodgers Cook. Tommy attended Columbia Central High School and graduated from Columbia Military Academy In 1959. On January 19, 1961, he married Norma Derryberry Cook. In addition to being a partner in Moody’s Tire, Tommy retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and owned and operated Cook Coin Company. He was a member of McCain’s Cumberland Presbyterian Church. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Thomas Hodge (Amber) Cook IV; granddaughters, Jody Snedegar, Emily Cook; grandsons, Robby Snedegar, Thomas Hodge Cook V (Chelsea Barnhill), Mark (Sarah) Cook; great-grandsons, Trayston Davis, Antonio Pope, Jack Phinnessee, Elijah Phinnessee; great-granddaughter, Laurel Cook; sister, Cindy (Mike) King; nephews, Bryan Bone, Matthew (Cara) King; nieces, Mary Beth King, and Carrie King. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rosemary (Tommy) Bone; and granddaughter, Traci Snedegar, daughter Mary (Missy) Edna Cook Snedegar, son-in-law John Scott Snedegar.

Active pallbearers will be Robby Snedegar, Thomas Cook V, Richard Paulk, Randy Pullen, Mike Layne, and Mike King. Honorary pallbearers will include the Elders of McCain’s Cumberland Presbyterian Church and members of the card group.
