Thomas Wayne Lyles Sr

Thomas Wayne Lyles, Sr., 68, partner in Columbia Neon Company and resident of Cheyenne Trail, died Saturday, January 26, 2008 at St. Thomas Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Jackson Heights Church of Christ with Andrew Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. Memorials may be made to Columbia Academy, 1101 West 7th Street, Columbia 38401. He was a 1957 graduate of Columbia Central High School and long-time member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ. Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife of 47 years, Judy Bennett Lyles of Columbia; daughters, Lucy Oldham of Columbia; sons, Thomas Wayne Lyles, Jr. of Columbia and Ben Lyles of Nashville; sisters, Nelda (Buddy) Nichols of Columbia and Betty (Martin) Lemon of Dyersburg; grandchildren, Amber (Wayne) Mecham, Cassie Lyles, Ellie Oldham, and Will Oldham; several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers are Charles Stofel, George Stofel, Clifton Kelley, Gary Tice, Harvey Nicholson, Billy Reed, Joe Don Gibbs, Billy Tanner, and Will Oldham. Honorary pallbearers include employees of Columbia Neon Company, Jimmy Duvall, Dennis Phillips, and Elders and Deacons of Jackson Heights Church of Christ.
