View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Mr. Thomas Perry Harper, 72, a resident of Franklin and former owner of the Sandwich Shoppe in Columbia, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 14, 2021. A funeral mass for Mr. Harper will be conducted Monday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Philip Catholic Church 113 2nd Avenue S. Franklin, Tennessee 38401. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born March 31, 1949 in Grundy, Virginia, he was the son of the late Damon Lee Harper and the late Linnie A. Yates Harper. On February 22, 1980, he married Catherine Maurin Harper. In addition to being a former owner of the Sandwich Shoppe, he operated various auto repair shops. Mr. Harper enjoyed gardening and was an avid Titans and Predators fan. He was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church in Franklin. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Christopher (Mindy) Harper of Cleveland, Carl Harper of Spring Hill, Ashford (Marcia) Harper of Fowlerville, Michigan, and Joseph Harper of Michigan; grandchildren, Adam Harper, Robert Harper, Tiffany Harper, Kaylee Harper, Rylie Harper and Gavin Harper; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Garrett Harper, Nina Harper, Jerry Harper, and Sandra Harper; father-in-law, Emil M. Maurin and mother in-law, Margaret M. Maurin.
