Mr. Thomas Kidd Rich, 82, retired supervisor for South Central Bell for 37 years and a resident of Manor Road, died Saturday, June 11, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 12:00 Noon at Oakes & Nichols with Wendell Robinson and Kirk Brothers officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 4004 Hillsboro Road, Suite B-216, Nashville, 37215. He was a 1941 graduate of Giles County High School and served in the U. S. Army from 1946-1947. Mr. Rich was a member of the Graymere Church of Christ, Telephone Pioneers and was an avid fisherman. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Margaret Weatherford Rich of Columbia; two daughters, Judith Ann Rich and Kathy (Gary) Tucker of Columbia; a grandson, Douglas Tucker of Columbia; two sisters, Frances Ingram and Patsy (Robert) Bee of Pulaski; a brother, Wade (Ruth) Rich of Huntsville, Alabama; several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers are Floyd Horn, Bim Morrison, Bobby Prentice, Bob Belt, Robert Bee, Tommy Parker, Kevin Thompson and Bill Carden. Honorary pallbearers include South Central Bell employees, Elders and Deacons of Graymere Church of Christ, and Dr. John Simmons.
