Tillman A Ledford

Mr. Tillman Arthur Ledford, 85, retired from Union Carbide Corporation, died Sunday, March 18, 2007 at his residence on Sunset Dr. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with John Vaughan and Wendell Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. Taps will be played by Mr. Ledford's grandson, Chris Ellis. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The Livingston native was the son of the late Robert Ledford and Dora Belle Smith Ledford. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Ledford was a member of Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19 and Operating Engineers Local #912. He was a member of Graymere Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vivian Mae Ball Ledford in 1996, three brothers, William Ledford, Clifton Ledford and Kenneth Ledford. He is survived by his wife, Eris Davis Crafton Ledford of Columbia; brother, R.D. (Sammie) Ledford of Columbia; one son, Don (Sheila) Ledford of Mt. Pleasant; three daughters, Catherine (Donnie) Cox of Pulaski; Juanita (Wayne) Bolton of Columbia; Teresa Guess of Raleigh, N.C.; three stepdaughters, Linda Crane of Springfield, Mary Jane (Joe) Roberts of Hendersonville, Martha (Randy) Goodwin of Columbia; seven grandchildren, Michael (Stephanie) Mayberry of Columbia, Jonathan Mayberry of Columbia, Jessica Ledford of Mt. Pleasant, Chandelle (Brian) Sullivan of Beaufort, S.C.; Nathan (Angela) Bolton of Columbia, Chris Ellis and Robert Ellis of North Carolina; five step-grandchildren, Sheree (Steve) Lambright of Cumberland Furnace, Kenneth (Leslie) Crane of Portland, Todd (Kim) Smith of Cedar Hill, Russ (Tanya) Smith of White House, Tammie (Todd) Fox of Pulaski; six great-grandchildren, Blake Mayberry, Tyler Mayberry, Jacob Mayberry, Luke Sullivan, Nora Sullivan, Preston Bolton; nine step-great grandchildren, Samantha Lambright, Shelby Lambright, Skylar Lambright, Spancer Lambright, Austin Crane, Miles Smith, Kayla Smith, Corey Smith, Tori-Beth Fox; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Marty DeJarnette and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be elders and deacons of Graymere Church of Christ and retired employees of Union Carbide Corporation.
