Timothy Leighton Gibson, 32, boxing promoter with K.O. Management, died Monday, January 18, 2016 at his residence on Hampshire Pike. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Chris Smith officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 3:00 -7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of Timothy E. Gibson and Belinda Jill Collins Gibson of Columbia. He enjoyed working with professional fighters and loved to fish. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and coaching his daughter's soccer team. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife whom he married October 7, 2006, Nelia Lynne Rummage Gibson of Columbia; daughter, Kelsey Lyne Gibson of Columbia; son, Korbin Leighton Gibson of Columbia; sister, Amanda Gibson of Columbia; niece, Elizabeth Lay of Columbia; several aunts and uncles; mother-in-law, Laura R. Rummage of Columbia; step brother-in-law, Ronnie (Paula) Rummage of Antioch; and brother-in-law, William Glynne Rummage. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and father-in-law, Billy Glynne Rummage. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Shumate, Andrew Costa, Andre Costa, Adam Cowan, Michael Gibbons, Jeremy Carter, Tim Webb, James Stewart, members of Columbia Soccer Association, K. O. Management and fighters, and staff of Pleasant Heights Weekday Pre-school.
