Robert Thomas Flowers, Sr., 66, Assistant Manager of Wal-Mart in Columbia, died Sunday, May 9, 2004, at his residence on Gray Circle. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Collins officiating. A private family graveside service will be conducted at Polk Memorial Gardens at a later time. The family will visit with friends Tuesday after 1 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 - 11 a.m. at the funeral home. He was a graduate of Warren County High School in Kentucky and received a degree in Business from Western Kentucky University. He was a member of West End Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Janice Fann Flowers of Columbia; one son, Robert T. "Bobby" Flowers, Jr. of Nashville; two daughters, Beth (Marc) Taylor and Becky (Philip) Fossee, both of Nashville; one brother, Fred (Hattie) Flowers of Brooks, Kentucky; two sisters, Juanita Hendrix of Louisville, Kentucky; and Delores Smith of Ludington,Michigan; and four grandchildren, Cody D. Taylor of Nashville, Lillie Flowers of Auburn, Alabama, Rosemary Fossee and Philip Fossee both of Nashville; mother-in-law, Margie Crowell Fann of Columbia and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Brian Bannister, Doyle Hayes, Steve Walls, Marcus Jones, Britton Brumfield, David Massey, Jerome Brumfield and Richard Baud. Honorary pallbearers will be past & present co-workers at Wal-Mart.
