Tony Rubert

Tony Rubert, 94, farmer and longtime resident of Rick Hight Road, died Friday, October 19, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center.Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Everett Campbell and Randy Short officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.Born July 28, 1924 in Lawrence County, he was the son of the late Clyde Samuel Rubert and the late Della Rose Chennault Rubert. Mr. Rubert was an avid sports fan and enjoyed bowling. He was a member of Smyrna Church of Christ.Survivors include his brothers, William Theron (Betty) Rubert of Culleoka and L. V. (Beatrice) Rubert of Columbia; nieces and nephews, Todd (Sharon) Rubert, Rickey Rubert, Dianne (Marshall) Savage, Donna (Rickey) Beard, Troy (Lori) Rubert, Tammy (Chris) Holmstron, Connie (Ross) Pullen; and several great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, and great great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Rubert; and three nephews, Dale Rubert, Lane Rubert, and Timmy Rubert.Active pallbearers will be Alton Walker, Todd Rubert, Troy Rubert, Rickey Rubert, Roscoe Brannon, Bryan Rubert, Bob Slaughter, and J.D. Lineberry. Honorary pallbearers will include men of Smyrna Church of Christ.
