View Funeral WebcastTwyla Ingram Uggla, 60, of Culleoka, TN passed away Tuesday evening, February 28, 2017 at Vanderbilt Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Blevins and Pastor David Simmerman officiating. Burial will follow in Wilkes Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 11:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born August 20, 1956 in Columbia, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Billy Edward Ingram and Betty Montgomery Ingram. She graduated from Columbia Central High School and continued on to receive a Registered Nursing Degree from Columbia State Community College.Twyla loved her family and loved helping people in all aspects of life. Her passion for helping people led her to a nursing career in numerous fields for over 25 years. She enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, sewing, quilting and traveling. Those who know Twyla best knew that she had a special place in her heart for puppies that needed a home and did her very best to rescue every one she could get her hands on. Twyla also loved and was actively involved in her church The First Family First Baptist Church.Twyla is survived by her husband, whom she married April 8, 1989, John Carl Uggla of Columbia; sister, Sandy (Doyle) Collins of Columbia; brother, Cody (Connie) Ingram of Columbia; step children, Mike (Amanda) Uggla of Franklin; Daniel (Janette) Uggla of Atlanta, Georgia; Jane Tanner of Benicia, California; grandchildren, Jackson Uggla, Keaton Uggla, Alexandra Uggla, Logan Uggla, Winter Rose Uggla, Kennedy Uggla and Woods Uggla; nieces and nephews, Steve, Derrick, Angela, Becky, Amy, Brandon, and Sassy; and other family and friends.Twyla is preceded in death by two brothers, Chippy Ingram, and Phillip Ross Ingram. Active pallbearers will be Daniel Uggla, Mike Uggla, Brandon Collins, Derrick Kinzer, Dallas Vance, Steve Ingram, Josh Kennedy, Scott Phaneuf, Gideon Bostwick. Honorary pallbearers include the Dodd-Uggla Sunday School Class and the Hohenwald Quilt Group.
