Vander "Gander" Lemay Vander Howard "Gander" Lemay, 73, retired employee of S. S. Iron Metal Company, died Friday, October 8, 2004, at his residence on Westover Drive. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Bradley Dugger and Myron Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery with military honors provided by the Tennessee National Guard. The Maury County native was the son of the late Jessie H. Lemay and Elizabeth Holder Lemay. He was married to Bonnie Gibson Lemay who preceded him in death on December 1, 2002. Mr. Lemay served in the U. S. Army, 3rd Armor Division during the Korean Conflict. He had also worked for Kernie Cothran Well Drilling for a short period of time. He was a member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons, Dennis Lemay of Columbia; Timothy (Tammy) Lemay of Norton, Virginia; two sisters, Catherine Lindsey of Mt. Pleasant; Margie (Howard) Fautt of Columbia; one brother, Chester Lemay of Lewisburg; two grandchildren, Jonathon Lemay and Jessica Lemay, both of Kingsport; special friends, Michelle Phy, Jerrod Phy, Brianna Phy, all of Mt. Pleasant; and brother-in-law, Bobby Joe Gibson of Columbia; nieces and nephews, Terry Lemay, Kaye Lemay, Jeff Lemay, Chris Lemay, Glenda Thomas, Elizabeth Fautt, Wanda (Mark) Pitts, Howard "Bubba" Fautt, Cathey Kennedy, Richard Lindsey. He was preceded in death by one son, James Herbert Lemay. Pallbearers will be men of Jackson Heights Church of Christ. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Hospice of Highland Rim.
