Velma Joyce Riddle Riley

View Video Tribute Velma Joyce Riddle Riley, 85, retired employee of Swarco Industries and State Farm Insurance, died Friday, February 26, 2021 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Mark Saline officiaitng. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born May 21, 1935 in Versailles, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the later Robert Riddle and the late Ernestine Eaves Riddle. Mrs. Riley was a graduate of Columbia Central High School. She enjoyed genealogy and loved family gatherings. Mrs. Riley was known for her wonderful sewing abilities. She was a member of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her daughter, Elaine (Don) Cannady, Arlene Stokes (Bruce Entrekin); grandchildren, Justin Stokes, Jessica Hanvy, Steven Cannady, Jacob Cannady; seven great grandchildren; brothers and sister, Don (Linda) Riddle, Jim (Juanita) Riddle, Joanne Grissom; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Paul Riley, and brothers, Tommy Riddle, and Robert Riddle, Jr. Active pallbearers will be Bruce Entrekin, Justin Stokes, Steven Cannady, Jacob Cannady, John Stokes, and Kayden Hanvy.
