Mrs. Velma Louise Rainey Chunn Rollins, 99, a resident of Maury Hill St., Spring, Hill, died Monday, October 4, 2004 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday, at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Glen Alexander and Wendell Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Shires Memorial Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Spring Hill Church of Christ, 5351 Main St., Spring Hill, TN, 37174 or Columbia Academy, 1101 W. Seventh St., Columbia, TN, 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. Mrs. Rollins was born October 12, 1904 in Marshall County the daughter of the late Steven and Frances McGregor Rainey. Following the death of her first husband, Chester O. Chunn, she married Jim Rollins who also preceded her in death. She was a member of Spring Hill Church of Christ. Survivors include three daughters, Frances A. Andrews of Spring Hill, V. Ruth Chunn (Richard) Brown of Columbia, Mary Mitchum "Billie" Chunn (Wendell) Cooper of Bonita, Florida; one daughter-in-law, Bessie Kerr Chunn of Columbia; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Winfred Loyd Chunn and Chester Odell Chunn; one daughter, Dorothy Mae Chunn Long; two brothers, John L. Rainey and Ulna Rainey; four sisters, Lula Moore, Mable Neely, Grace Burrow, Mary Chunn; and one great-great-grandson, Christopher Michael Chunn. Pallbearers will be Chet Chunn, Larry Chunn, Matthew Moore, Rickey Brown, Steve Berlin, Jerry Michael Berlin, James R. Wright, Thomas L. Moore, Joe Achberger, Bobby Farley, Ted Phillips and Clyde Farmer. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Moses, Alice Ann Mitchum Fitts, Dr. Rand Hayes, Dr. William Robinson, Nurses of N.H.C., friends of Spring Hill Church of Christ and neighbors and friends of Spring Hill.
