Venson Harris

Mr. Venson Harris Mr. Rollie Venson Harris, 84, retired from Heil-Quaker Corporation and Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors, died Saturday, April 10, 2004 at his residence in the Pottsville Community. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Bobby Sampson and Jack White officiating. Burial will be in the Shires Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be maded to the Old Lasea Church of Christ Building Fund. The Marshall County native was the son of the late Grady Harris and Bulah Montgomery Harris. He was a long-time member and song leader of the Old Lasea Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Bertha Rosell Neathery Harris of Pottsville; a son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Mary Charles Harris of Spring Hill; three grandchildren, Terri (Pete) Aldridge, Brandy (Benji) Robinson and Chad (Kari) Harris; a great-grandchild, Tyler Robinson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Pallen Hill and a brother, Lyndon Harris. Active pallbearers are Van Hill, Jerry Harris, Chad Harris, Steve Harris, Ronny Brown, Benji Robinson, Pete Aldridge, Larry Billington. Honorary pallbearers include members of the Old Lasea Church of Christ, friends in the Pottsville Community, former employees of Heil-Quaker Corporation, staff of Oakes & Nichols and Wayne Hickman.
