Vera Maxine Anderson, 87, resident of Centerville, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at NHC Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at Greenfield Bend Church of Christ with Steve Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in Greenfield Bend Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday after 5:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home and Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born August 24, 1929 in Tyronza, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Jackson Beckham and Wanda May Beasley. She had an amazing zest for life and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Everyone who knew and loved Mrs. Anderson will miss her small stature and larger than life voice. She did not mind using that voice to let you know what was right and what she stood for. She was a member of Greenfield Bend Church of Christ. Survivors include her son, Bobby (Sandra) Anderson of Williamsport; daughters, Brenda Cotton of Centerville, Teresa (Keith) Harver of Saluda, Virginia; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sisters, Annie Alexander of Tupelo, Mississippi, Evelyn Caudle of Clarksville; and brother, Robert Beckham of Kiln, Mississippi. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, David F. Anderson; and siblings, Henry Beckham, Edna Bloomquist, Junior Beckham, and Edward Beckham. Active pallbearers will be Alex Ford, Westin Ford, Keith Harver, Mathew Harver, Jason Delk, Neil Delk, Tommy Anderson, and Stan Rhoda.
