Vickie Diane Halbrooks Kelley, 51, co-owner of K & K Towing, died Sunday, July 24, 2005 at her residence on Hoover Road in the Shady Grove Community. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The Lewis County native was the daughter of Ruth Cates Halbrooks and the late Wilburn Halbrooks, Sr. On March 26, 1970 she married Clyde Edward Kelley who preceded her in death July 9, 1985. Mrs. Kelley started, and was a volunteer with, the Shady Grove volunteer Fire Department. Survivors in addition to her mother are three daughters, Victoria Ferguson of Hampshire, Denise (Randy) Powers and Kayla Kelley both of the Shady Grove Community; one son, Kyle Kelley of the Shady Grove Community; one sister, Debbie (Bill) King of Columbia; six brothers, Leon Halbrooks, Eddie Halbrooks and Eric Halbrooks all of Centerville, Timmy Halbrooks, Kenneth Halbrooks and Gary Halbrooks all of Columbia; companion Rick Davidson of Shady Grove; two grandchildren, Brent Smith of Hampshire and Kaitlin Rettig of Shady Grove; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Robert Nicholson, Patrick Pangle, Erron Kinney, Chad Smith, Freddy Long and Jamie Kennedy. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Shady Grove Volunteer Fire Department.
