Viola B Cunningham

Mrs. Viola Baker Cunningham, 76, retired nurses aide, sitter, restaurant operator and former resident of Brannon Court, died Thursday, January 26, 2006, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday at First United Pentecostal Church with Pastor Telford Tharp and Pastor Jason Keyser officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday after 2:00 P.M. at the church. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to First United Pentecostal Church, 955 Baker Road, Columbia, TN 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Hickman County native was the daughter of the late Jim Baker and Lizzie Kelley Baker. Mrs. Cunningham, affectionately known as "Grannybug", loved her Lord and her church. She drove all over the county to bring adults and young children to church on Sunday. She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Patricia Ann Pruitt of Culleoka; Mrs. Debra (Brian) Trahan of Erath, Louisiana; Mrs. Rita Carol Boles of Columbia; Mrs. Kathey (Thomas) Wrathers of Florence, Alabama; one sister, Mrs. Eunice Ellis of Mt. Pleasant; one brother, Charles (Ruby) Baker of Columbia; seven grandchildren, Michael Pruitt, Candy Roberts, Wendy King, Jessica Boles, and Adam Boles, all of Columbia; Tammy Wells and Brenda (Dino) Boudoin, both of Erath, Louisiana; twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews, and her first husband and father of her children, Charles Hearod of Columbia. She was preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Campbell and one brother, Robert Baker. Pallbearers will be men of First United Pentecostal Church. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Cummins Couch, doctors and nurses in CCU and Third Floor at Maury Regional Hospital; and Ed Moore and C.N.A.'s at NHC Hillvew.
