Violet Eleanor Attkisson England, 85, retired seamstress and resident of the Culleoka Community, died Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Meadowbrook Healthcare & Rehab Center in Pulaski. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 3:00 P.M. at Polk Memorial Gardens with Brother Steve Swango and Brother Mike Tidwell officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 1:30 – 2:30 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born May 9, 1933 in Giles County, she was the daughter of the late U. B. Attkisson, Sr. and the late Violet Lee Tyler Attkisson. On March 17, 1956, she married Tommy Lee England, Jr. who preceded her in death January 8, 2002. Mrs. England was a longtime employee of Dixie Manufacturing. She was a member of Loyal Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include her children, Linda Kaye (David) Rankin of Hixson, Tommy Lee England, III, James M. (Linda Cates) England of Pulaski; sister, Dorothy Hardison of Lawrenceburg; grandchildren, Amy (Jeremy) Poarch and Adam (Karen) Rankin; great grandchildren, A. J. Rankin, Miriam Poarch, Lillian Poarch, Eliza Poarch, Beatrice Poarch, Isaac Rankin; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Joe Calvin England; three sisters and three brothers. Active pallbearers will be David Rankin, A. J. Rankin, Jeremy Poarch, Adam Rankin, Hunter Reed, and Jamie Reed. Honorary pallbearers will include past and present members of Loyal Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
