MISS VIRGIE MAE HARDISON Miss Virgie Mae Hardison, 96, former resident of the Bear Creek Community, died Monday, December 22, 2003, at Life Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Ted Burleson officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1212, Columbia, TN 38402 or West Seventh Street Church of Christ, 405 West Seventh Street, Columbia, TN 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late J. Humphrey Hardison and Virgie Shannon Hardison. She was a member of West Seventh Street Church of Christ. Survivors include one brother, Ralph Hardison of Mt. Dora, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mable Hardison, Lou Knox, and Lavonia Liggett; and five brothers, Lester Hardison, Edward Hardison, J. H. Hardison, Norman Hardison, and Douglas Hardison. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
