MRS. VIRGINIA ASHLEY Mrs. Helen Virginia Vick Ashley, 75, retired seamstress and resident of Lenox Drive, died Tuesday, November 26, 2002, at St. Thomas Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:30 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Dorris Rader officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Wednesday and Thursday evenings after 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society. The Alabama native was the daughter of the late Robert Smith Vick, Sr, and Mary Helen Hinson Vick. She was married to Charles Ashley who preceded her in death on January 27, 2001. She was a member of the Mooresville Pike Church of Christ. Survivors include three daughters, Christine Burgett of Mt. Pleasant; Shirley (Bobby) Fox of Columbia; Patricia (Grady) Jackson of Edinburg, Indiana; one son, Wayne (Dottie) Malugin of Lewisburg; two sisters, Alta Dawson of Carrolton, Georgia; Imogene Tatum of Pulaski; one brother, George (Elizabeth) Vick of Kentucky; five sisters-in-law, Lucille Vick, Martha Vick, Rachel Vick, Ola Mae Vick, Estelle Vick; grandchildren, Billy Wayne Riggins, Robert (LeAnne) Hatcher, Jr., Jamie Hatcher, Charlie (Melanie) Fox, Jennifer Fox, Dawn (Steve) Allen, Sarah Beth Malugin, Zack (Misty) Townsend, Chad Jackson, Erika (Jamie) Green, Erin (Kevin) Ailstock; great grandchildren, Matthew Fox, Shelby Fox, Courtney Hatcher, Todd Riggins, Joey Riggins, Kyler Allen, Mallory Allen, Jake Townsend, Blake Green, Bailey Green, and Jackson Ailstock. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Cooper, Ava Carroll; five brothers, Roy M. Vick, Sr., Ernest C. Vick, Joe Vick, Robert Vick, Jr., James Vick, and grandson, Eddie Riggins. Pallbearers will be Robert Hatcher, Jr., Charlie Fox, Mike Tatum, Phil Tatum, Larry Vick, Jerry Vick, Doug Vick, Larry Jennings, and Ryan Jump. Honorary pallbearers will be men of Mooresville Pike Church of Christ.
