Virginia Louise Tucker Courtney

Virginia Louise Tucker Courtney, 76, resident of Experiment Lane, died Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Nichols officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to King's Daughters School, 412 West Ninth Street, Columbia, TN 38401 or the Family Center, 921 Beckett Street, Columbia, TN 38401. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born January 28, 1941 in Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late John Robert Tucker and the late Lurlene Stotts Tucker. After graduation from High School, Mrs. Courtney worked for Sharvania Oil Company as Executive Secretary. For several years, she was vice president for Priority One Inc and of Baptist faith.Survivors include her husband, whom she married August 24, 1980, William Courtney of Columbia; son, William B. "Chip" (Gina) Russell of Columbia; grandsons, Braden Russell; and Owen Russell; sister, Linda Van Halen of Metairie, Louisiana; brother, John Huell (Carol) Tucker of Atlanta, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
