Virginia Ann McGrew Hindman, 88, retired employee with the State of Tennessee Human Resource Department and resident of Creek Trail, died Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Wendell Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 12:00 P.M. until time of the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late James Patton "Pat" McGrew and Virginia Fox McGrew. On August 20, 1965 she married William Jackson "Jack" Hindman who preceded her in death December 4, 1992. She was an avid reader and enjoyed keeping up the news and current events. Mrs. Hindman was a member of Graymere Church of Christ. Survivors include her nephews, Thomas Neely McGrew, Jr. of Franklin, James P. McGrew, Jr. of Columbia; niece, Pattye (James) Fort of Columbia; great nieces, Abby McGrew Manning, Molly Elizabeth McGrew, Lacey McGrew Stogner, Katherine "Kat" Fort, Virginia Ann Fort; and great great nieces, Ava Francis Manning, Lucy Thomas Manning, and Caroline Olivia Manning. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Neely McGrew, Sr. and James P. McGrew, Sr.Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers.
