MRS. VIRGINIA JONESMrs. Willie Virginia Vandiver Jones, 91, retired cashier at Lovett's IGA and former resident of Riverside, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with *** officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 noon at Willow Mount Cemetery in Shelbyville. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. She was the daughter of the late Willie Allen Vandiver and Lucy Alice Garner Vandiver. She was first married to J. H. "Jack" Reed and later married Bob Jones who preceded her in death. Mrs. Jones was also a self-employed hairdresser. Survivors include one sister, Mary Lee Vandiver of Columbia; one niece, Betty Dixon of Columbia; one nephew, Allen Vandiver of Culleoka; one great nephew, Johnny (Teri) Hill of Columbia; two great great nephews, Brandon Hill and Michael Hill, both of Columbia. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
