View Funeral Webcast Mrs. Virginia Raye Littlejohn Westmoreland, 85, died Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Life Care Nursing Home. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Randy Kersey officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. and Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Herbert Baxter Littlejohn and Clatie Mae Johnson Littlejohn, and was a 1952 graduate of Central High School. She was a dispatcher for the Columbia Police Department and together with her late husband of 60 years, Earl Ray “Sarge” Westmoreland, whom she married March 25, 1955, ran “Sarge’s Shack” restaurant for many years. Virginia was famous for her fried pies. She was a member of New Lasea Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughters, Melissa Westmoreland, Kim (C.L.) Sullivan both of Columbia; grandchildren, Todd Cannady, Ryan Hines, Kara Cannady, and Daniel (Bailey) Westmoreland; great grandchildren, Dallas Cannady, Tyler Cannady, Lauren Cannady, Madison James, Haylee James, and Christopher Ray Hines; brother and sisters in law, Jack and Mona Westmoreland, Lona Westmoreland, and Judy Westmoreland; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Ray "Sarge" Westmoreland, who died April 2, 2015; son, Anthony Ray “Tony” Westmoreland; sister, Mary Katherine Littlejohn McCracken; and brothers, W. C. Littlejohn, Leland Littlejohn, Hazel Littlejohn, Lloyd Allen Littlejohn, and Bobby Littlejohn. Pallbearers will be Todd Cannady, Ryan Hines, Daniel Westmoreland, Dallas Cannady, Tyler Cannady, Drew Bumpus, and Paul Westmoreland.
