View Funeral WebcastVirginia Claire Moore Stoltz, 87, long-time Columbia educator, businesswoman, and former resident of Hemingway Drive, died Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Morning Pointe Assisted Living. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Ted Burleson officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends after 4:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Born March 3, 1922 and reared in the Culleoka Community in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Will Blackburn Moore and Lillian Bailey Moore. She was a 1940 graduate of Culleoka High School and later attended Columbia Business College and Steed's Business College in Elizabethton, Tennessee. On June 4, 1950, she married James Ralph Stoltz. Their 45 year marriage ended with his death November 29, 1995. Together, she and Mr. Stoltz owned and operated Columbia Business College for more than 20 years. They founded Stoltz Printing Company in 1968 and their sons continue its operation today. Mrs. Stoltz remained active in the business until September of 2009, representing more than 65 years as an active member of the business community. She was a long-time member of West 7th Street Church of Christ, a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and member of the James K. Polk Association. Survivors include her sons, Jim (Cathy) Stoltz and David (Cindy) Stoltz of Columbia; a brother, C. B. (Elizabeth) Moore of Columbia; grandsons, Chris (Stephanie) Stoltz, Carter Stoltz, and Charlie Stoltz; and close friend, Dolores Love. She was preceded in death by an infant grandson, William David Stoltz. Active pallbearers are Chris Stoltz, Carter Stoltz, Charlie Stoltz, Edd Stoltz, Larry Stoltz, Gary Demonbreun, James Robert Stoltz, and Marvin Bailey. Honorary pallbearers include Garry Stoltz, Don Cox, Grayson Goodness, Lonnie Qualls, Pat and Reams Vandiver, Kim Bradley, Jane Scott, members of West 7th Street Church of Christ, staff and residents of Morning Pointe, and Lambs of Maury Hills Church.
