View Funeral Webcast Vivian Ralston Erwin, 87, homemaker and resident of Erwin Road in the Bigbyville Community, died Monday, June 1, 2009 at Signature Health Care. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. James Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in McCains Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Bigbyville United Methdist Church, 3894 Bigbyville Road, Columbia 38401 or Beth Erwin Scholarship Fund at 1st United Methodist Church, 222 West 7th Street, Columbia 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent towww.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late William C. Ralston and Florence Horne Ralston. She was a long-time member of Bigbyville United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mary (Tim) Shannon of Columbia; sons, Thomas (Marie) Erwin of Linden, Danny (Dana) Erwin of Crossville, and William Carlos Erwin of Columbia; daughter-in-law, Susan Gilbreath Erwin of Columbia; sister, Marie Harris of Franklin; sister-in-law, Bertha Erwin Adkisson of Columbia; grandchildren, Ashley Shannon, Amy Shannon, Matt Erwin, Jeff (Amy) Carroll, Emily Erwin, Rebecca Erwin, Mark (Lisa) Erwin, Justin Erwin, John Erwin, Adam Erwin, Abigail Pearson, Angie Erwin, Joanna (Rick) McDonald, and Alexander Erwin; eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd A. Erwin February 6, 1992; sons, Joseph A. Erwin and Johnny Erwin; granddaughter, Bethany Erwin; twin great-grandsons, John Emitt Shaw and Ralston Thomas Shaw; sisters, Louise Young and Bessie Kelley; brothers, Eugene Ralston, Carlos Ralston, and William "Buddy" Ralston. Active pallbearers are Matt Erwin, Jeff Carroll, Mark Erwin, Justin Erwin, John Erwin, Adam Erwin, Rick McDonald, Alexander Erwin, and Chris Shaw. Honorary pallbearers include members of Bigbyville United Methodist Church and Mynders Community Club, Rex Pogue, Joe Bell, Jimmy Adkisson, Glen Brewer, Troy Briggs, Richard Young, Ronnie Young, Benny Bolton, and Kenny Hanvy.
