View Video TributeVonda Leigh Lax Humphrey, 40, Codes Compliance Inspector in the Williamson County Codes Compliance Office and resident of Water Valley Road in Santa Fe, died Thursday, December 15, 2005, at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Rip Baxter, Rev. Tommy Jobe, and friends of Vonda officiating. Burial will be in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4:00 - 9:00 P.M. and Sunday from 12:00 noon - 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. She was a 1984 graduate of Santa Fe High School. She had her cosmetology license and was a former employee of NHC Health Care and General Electric. She was a member of Santa Fe Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by twin sons, Spencer Logan Humphrey and Sawyer Lane Humphrey, age 10, both of Santa Fe; two sisters, Vicki (Michael) Dodson of Santa Fe; Sandy (Jeff) McLain of Columbia; one brother, Van (Paige) Lax of Paris, TN; paternal grandmother, Dathel Lax of Chattanooga; stepmother, Betty Lax of Puryear, TN; special companion, Kenny Tice of Santa Fe, his daughter Kassie Tice of Lawrenceburg, and his parents, Kenneth & Ann Tice; nieces, Bobbi Dodson, Mikayla Dodson, Ashley Dodson, Hallie McLain, Abby Lax; special "Jewels" Sissy Sewell, Shannon Fitzgerald, Darlene Jernigan; special co-worker, Lee Sanders; special friend, Odessa Daniels; special aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends and coworkers. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Pat Adams, grandparents, Louis Travis Lax and Orvis & Ruby Woody. Pallbearers will be Dean Sewell, Mark Fitzgerald, Lee Sanders, Jeff Hill, Joe Allen Steward, Marty Lockhart, Kenneth Tice, and Jimmy Humphrey. Honorary pallbearers will be co-workers of the Williamson County Community Development Office, members of Santa Fe Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Jeff & Phyllis McGee.
