W C Young, 72, lifelong resident of Maury County and retired employee of Tomlin Construction, died December 24, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:30 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. – 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born September 18, 1947 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Wallace C. Young and the late Emma G. Demastus Young. Mr. Young loved animals, he especially enjoyed riding horses. He was a member of the Cornerstone Cowboy Church. He is survived by his longtime sweet heart, Lorene Attkisson; sisters, Doris (Roger) King, Hester Smith, and Kathey Gillum; son, Jerry “Tuffy” Wright, Jr.; daughters, Gina (Lee) Young and Sonya (Pete) Allen; grandchildren, Adam Allen, Brittany (John) McMeen, Kristen (Mitchell) Wright, and Kendell Allen; great grandchildren, Kynslee Staggs, Kaybree Wright, Kayston Wright, Chesney Stein, Laikyn Stein, and Kendyn McMeen; and several nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Young, Billy Ray Young, and Ewine Thomas Young. Active pallbearers will be Lee Young, Carl Osborne, Pete Allen, Adam Allen, Kendell Allen, and Mitchell Wright.
