William Beasley "W. B." Grigsby, Sr., 74, retired forty-five year employee of Jim Reed Chevrolet, died Monday, March 28, 2016 at his residence on Santa Fe Pike. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. James Norton and Rev. David Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery. Visitation with the family will begin at 4:00 P.M. Thursday concluding with a Masonic Service at 7:00 P.M. and Friday from 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the son of the late Rev. Glenn Oliver Grigsby and the late Sara Ella Beasley Grigsby. On February 1, 1962, he married Bettye Cole Grigsby and they recently celebrated fifty-four wonderful years of marriage. He was a graduate of Hay Long High School. Mr. Grigsby enjoyed attending yard sales with his mom and loved old-time gospel music. He was a member of West Nashville Masonic Lodge 612 for almost fifty years. A member of Riverside United Methodist Church, he served as Trustee and was President of Jim Hewgley Sunday School Class for twenty-eight years. He was also active in the Evangelism & Mission Group, Men's Club, and church choir. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Elizabeth Grigsby Cook, Rebecca Grigsby (Darren) Bobo, and William B. Grigsby, Jr. (Kim Rochelle), all of Columbia; sisters, Martha Ann Grigsby (Bruce) Hieronymus of Savannah and Ida Eugenia Grigsby (Robert) Pratt of Brandon, FL; grandchildren, Andrew Owens and his fiancée Whitney Taylor; Jesse (Marissa) Owens; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Chloe Belle. Active pallbearers will be Andrew Owens, Jesse Owens, Todd Pratt, Jeff Graham, Hugh John Graham, James Patterson, Tim Brashears, and Mike Dodrill. Honorary pallbearers include Brian Graham, members of Jim Hewgley Sunday School Class, and Riverside United Methodist Choir.
