Wallace Eugene Kelley, 85, retired employee of Occidental Chemical Company and resident of Columbia, died Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at NHC Maury Regional. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Wallace was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting. He also enjoyed watching all Tennessee sporting events. Survivors include his daughter, LeeAnne Kelley; granddaughter, Kelley McCall; grandson, Matthew Kelley; nephew, Tommy (Judy) Counts; nieces, Linda (Ken) Odom, Pam Mabry; and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Reba Kelley; his mother, Annie Lou Morton Kelley Thornton; father, Melvin Kelley; sister, Geneva Counts; brother-in-law, Mack Counts; and nephew, Johnny Counts. Pallbearers are Matthew Kelley, Denton Crews, Jeff Conner, Ronnie Clark, Tommy Counts, Jr., Johnathon Counts, William Rowland, and Tommy McCall. Honorary pallbearers include Cecil “Chuck” Conner and members of Mt. Pleasant Country Club. The family would like to express a special thanks to Kristi and Sydney, and all the staff at NHC Maury Regional of Columbia for taking such good care of Mr. Kelley and treating him like family.
