Wallace Wayne Willoughby, 90, retired shipping supervisor for Union Carbide and resident of Williamsport Pike, died Monday, August 13, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Kelley and Pastor David VanWyk officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born January 16, 1928 in Madison County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late William E. Willoughby and the late Stacey Mae Lively Willoughby. On September 6, 1948, he married Geneva Stofel Willoughby who preceded him in death May 20, 2005. He served in the United States Air Force from 1946-1948 and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal. He enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, and fishing. Mr. Willoughby was a member of the Hohenwald Seventh-day Adventist Church. Survivors include his son, Sidney (Carole) Willoughby of Columbia; daughters, Stacey (Wayne) Warner of Summertown; Juanita Greenwood of Tullahoma; grandchildren, Kelsey Santiago of Eagle Pass, Texas; Sara Willoughby of Columbia; Matthew Warner of Cross Plains; Mandy Warner of Columbia; Jeff Hargrove of Columbia; Scott Hargrove of Tullahoma; Kenny Hargrove of Lawrenceburg; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Franklin Willoughby; and sister, Daisy Willoughby. Active pallbearers will be family and friends.
