Walter Demastus

WALTER DEMASTUS Mr. Walter Dee Demastus, 68, retired service station attendant and resident of Ryan Place, died Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at St. Thomas Hospital. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Friendship Cemetery with Joe Rhodes officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of Katie Daniels Demastus of Columbia and the late Nick Demastus. Survivors in addition to his mother include a son Mark Anthony Demastus of North Carolina; daughter, Terrie Lynn Bean of North Carolina; three sisters, Juanita (James C.) Davis and Rebecca (Roy) Ballard both of Columbia, Karen (Ray) Green of Lynnville; several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Dennis R. Demastus. Pallbearers will be W. C. Young, Wendell Davis, Randy Davis, Roy Osborne, Gordon Cannady and David Sparks.
