View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Wanda June “Mimi” Wade Smith, 82, retired bride specialist for Ye Peddlar Gift Shop and resident of Columbia, died Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Jeremy Butt, Randy Owens, and Kelley Smith M.D. officiating. Burial will follow in Scotts Hill Cemetery in Henderson County. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Born May 29, 1939 in Lee County, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Charles Alfred Wade and the late Zola Mae Smith Wade Underwood. Mrs. Smith enjoyed her work, gardening, flowers, was always very active, and an avid reader. She was a member of West 7th Street Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, whom she married June 19, 1959, John Mitchell Smith of Columbia; daughter, Melanie Kay Smith (Sonny) Armstrong of Nashville; son, Kelley Wade (Elizabeth) Smith of Huntsville, Alabama; sister, Marilyn (Jim) Simpson of Coyners, Georgia; Kittie (C.A.) Wright of Palm Desert, California; grandchildren, Ashley (Nick) Correll, Weston R. Smith, Luke (Aubrey) Smith, Zachary (Naomi) Smith, Elissa Smith; great grandchildren, Haiden Correll, Makennah Correll, Adalaide Correll, Everly Correll, Kayleigh Smith, Knox Smith, Kamila Smith, Harmony Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Elders and Deacons of West 7th Street Church of Christ, Bruce & Allenna Evans, Jane Wells, Bob & Judy Cofer, Shirley Oakley, Sonny & Sharon Thomas, Nicole Houser, Lucy McEwen, Sue Fox, the Zack Whitworth Family, and Melanie Tyler.
