Wayne Gifford Mr. Wayne C. Gifford, 68, retired businessman, died Sunday, February 12, 2006 at his residence on Sixth Avenue. Funeral services will be conducted at 3p.m. Friday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Murray Johns officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Friday from 1 - 3p.m. at the church. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Patrick Cleborne Gifford and Mary Thomas "Maymie" Clark Gifford Miller. He served in the military as a Navy Seal. Mr. Gifford was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Survivors include two sons, Patrick Merlin Gifford of Columbia and Frank R. Gifford of Rupert, Idaho; two daughters, Brenda Gifford of Paul, Idaho and Lee Anne Yanez of Columbia; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Bessie Eugenia Prentice, Patty Jane Gifford Boatright and Leila Mai Gifford. Pallbearers will be elders of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
