View Video TributeView Funeral Webcast Wayne Gordon McKee, 76, retired owner of McKee & Associates and resident of Tinsley Lane, died Friday, November 5, 2010 at Maury Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving children after a brief battle with cancer. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Chaplain Eddie Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Neapolis Cemetery with military honors at graveside provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Leukemia and Lynphoma Society Donpr Services, P.O. box 4072' Pittsfield, MA 01202. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, he was the son of the late Thomas James McKee and Audrey Viola Jones McKee Sweet. He was a 1951 graduate of Gambier High School and served in the U. S. Army from 1956 - 1958. Mr. McKee owned and operated McKee & Associates for a number of years and most recently worked with Discount Plumbing Company in Franklin. He was an avid sports enthusiast and loved to play golf. He coached girls fast-pitch softball and was affectionately known as "Grandpa" at the Pillow Park ball fields. He was a member of Colonial City M.O.O.S.E Lodge #2555 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. He was married September 27, 1953 to the former Margaret Ann "Marge" Wells. Their 55-year marriage ended in her death January 25, 2009. Survivors include daughters, Lori McKee of San Francisco, California and Lisa McKee of Columbia; sons, Michael (Tina) McKee of Louisville, Kentucky, Ron McKee of Columbia, and Doug (Sandy) McKee of Duck River; beloved and loving grandchildren, Wes McKee, Kelly McKee, Kristin McKee, Elizabeth McKee, Maygon McKee, Amanda McKee, Austin McKee, and Ashley Zerweck; great-grandchildren, Teagan Zerweck and Braxton McKee; sisters, Ellen McClain of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Carolyn (Neil) Hallman of Fredericktown, Ohio, Marilyn Keyes of Senecaville, Ohio, Lois (Bob) Reamsnider of Butler, Ohio, Linda McKee of Ipswich, Massachusetts, and Nancy (Larry) Hogrebe of Yorba Linda, California; brothers, Robert (Shirley) McKee of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Richard McKee of Illinois, and Don McKee of Steelwell, Ohio. Pallbearers are Wes McKee, Austin McKee, John Zerweck, Adam Breece, Terry B. Wells, and Chuck Hallman.
