Mr. W.H. (Hoos) Crozier, Jr., 88, retired owner/operator of Crozier Oil Company and resident of Academy Lane, died Thursday, February 9, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bill Williamson and Maggie Beamguard officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4 - 8p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home and Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Davidson County native was the son of the late W.H. Crozier, Sr. and Sara Jane Worsham Crozier. Mr. Crozier served in the United States Marine Corp during World War II where he flew Corsair Fighter Planes and was leader of 322 Squadron. He was a member of Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19, B.P.O. Elks Club, and was instrumental in re-starting Graymere County Club after the War. He made 7 holes-in-one during his golfing career. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and was very active in the choir where he sang Bass. Survivors include his wife, Martha "Bitty" Jackson Crozier of Columbia; daughter, Constance Ann Crozier of Huntsville, AL; one sister, Mrs. Virginia Louise Crozier Jones of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, W. H. "Buddy" Crozier, III, and four sisters, Julia Crozier, Tinka Richardson, Elizabeth Allen and Evelyn Shaw. Pallbearers will be Chipper Jones, Henry Jones, Brooks Jones, Bryan Baird, Terry Allen, Bill Allen, Jimbo Scoggins, Steve Shaw, Johnny Jackson, Billy Jackson and Tommy Patton. Honorary pallbearers will be Pooky Jones, Dub Pigg, Raymond Hamilton, Frank Walker, Rufus Ross, Renis Baker, Ed Lawwell, Tommy Peebles, Enrique Rodriguez, John Holmes, Buddy Wilkes, Harold Pryor, Goober Owen, Bettie Moore, John Davis, Lea Meier, Tilman Knox, Paul Smith, Bill Rummage, Dr. Chuck Riley, Dr. Tom Dake, Dr. Belinda Bart, Dr. John Freels, Dog Fighters at Graymere Country Club, and 10:00 Coffee Drinkers at Lucille's.
