Willadeen Baker Wood

Willadeen Baker Wood, 92, died Sunday, April 21, 2024 at her residence.

A private graveside service will be held at Polk Memorial Gardens with Richard Pilkinton officiating.  Online condolences may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com.  Memorials may be made to Highland church of Christ Building Fund, 497 East James Campbell Blvd.  Columbia, TN 38401.

Willadeen was born on September 6, 1931 in Hickman County, TN to the late James Otey Baker and the late Mary Lou Hunt Baker.  She married Ulylus “Billy” Evans Wood on January 27, 1951, and he preceded her in death on January 24, 2004.  Willadeen was reared on a farm, and she loved spending time on her farm, gardening, sewing, and cooking.  She was a longtime member of Highland church of Christ.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Earlene Wood of Columbia; granddaughter, Katherine Megan Pearson of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Wood Pearson; brother, Ronald Baker; sisters, Marilyn Thomas and Dorothy Jean Witherow.
