William Terrell "Bill" Anderson, 54, former resident of Columbia, died Friday, January 19, 2007 at his residence in Decatur, Alabama. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Decatur with Rev. David Rollins officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 12:00 noon to service time at the church. Memorials may be made to Morgan County Rescue Squad, 4403 Old Highway U. S. 31, Decatur, Alabama 35601. He was a 1970 graduate of Columbia Central High School. He attended Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville and earned his degree in engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. As a young man, he worked with his father at Pigg & Parsons Men's Clothiers in Columbia. He worked as a utility engineer with Decatur Utilities for 32 years and with the Decatur - Morgan County Rescue Squad for over 30 years. Mr. Anderson was a member and served as an Elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Decatur. Survivors include his wife, Carol Cooper Anderson of Decatur; a son, William Todd Anderson of Decatur; a sister, Pam Anderson (Gary) Hamburg of Franklin; a niece, Blair Hamburg; two nephews, Kenneth (Laura) Hamburg and Lowell Anderson; aunts, Lollie Anderson Osborne and Martha Turner Matthews of Columbia; and several cousins. Pallbearers are Gary Hamburg, Kenneth Hamburg, Lowell Sanderson, Turner Matthews, Andy Matthews, Scott Matthews, Chris Matthews, Bruce Kayser, Steve Hill, Ross Osborne, Heath Reid, Tom Cleveland, and Terry Lynn.
