William Bankhead Courtney

Williams Bankhead Courtney, 75, retried self-employed owner and operator in fire protection, and former resident of Experiment Lane, died Friday, May 13, 2022 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Born June 7, 1946 in Covington, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Eugene Courtney and the late Annie Mae Rose Courtney. On August 24, 1980, he married Virginia Louise Tucker Courtney who preceded him in death December 23, 2017. Mr. Courtney enjoyed golfing, and gathering with friends at local vineyard enjoying the wine. Survivors include his son, Williams Bankhead (Lisa) Courtney, Jr. of Memphis; grandchildren, Maggie Courtney, Molly Courtney, Will Courtney, Max Courtney; step-son, William B. “Chip” (Gina) Russell of Columbia; and step grandsons, Braden Russell and Owen Russell.
