William Beard

Mr. William T. Beard, 75, resident of Park Circle, died Monday, November 22, 2004 at his daughter's residence in Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Pete Tacket officiating. Burial will be in the Short Cemetery in the Spring Place Community in Marshall County. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1212, Columbia, 38402. He was a carpenter, a tool & dye maker and machine operator for Lions Company, Richards Brothers' and Massey- Ferguson. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Debbie (Tim) Weir and Patsy (John) Gillis both of Michigan and Diane (Brian) Reesor of Columbia; two sons, Tom (Diana) Beard and Dennis (Karen) Beard both of Michigan; fourteen grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Dale Beard. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
