View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast William Ray Campbell, 81, retired co-owner of Columbia Oil Company, died Thursday, April 23, 2020 at his residence. The family would like to offer the opportunity for friends and family to come by Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home Saturday between 2:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. to pay respects to Mr. Campbell. A private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. Born November 8, 1938 in Maury County, he was the son of the late John Alexander Campbell, Sr. and the late Susie Ann Riggins Campbell. He was a member of American Rifle Association and Fraternal Order of Police Association. Mr. Campbell loved dancing, was an avid NASCAR racing fan, and was consider to be a jack of all trades. Survivors include his daughter, Nancy Raye Campbell of Hendersonville; granddaughter, Skylar (Landon) Harris of Hendersonville; sister, Olivia Campbell Blalock of Columbia; brother, Hershel Campbell of Culleoka; life partner of 20 years, Sherell Hickman of the Cross Bridges Community; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Luther Thomas Campbell, John Campbell, Jr., Harold Campbell, Donald Campbell, Sr.; and sister, Mabel Ann Beard. Active pallbearers will be Sam Peach, Ted Wray, Paul Gibson, David Brady, Gary Campbell, and Thomas McKinney.
