William Brooke Buchanan, 42, salesman for Bonnie Plant Company and resident of Murphy Lane, died Ssturday, December 24, 2005. A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Jim Hughes officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m in the church atrium. Private family interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Savannah Buchanan Education Fund. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native attended Columbia Military Academy and was a graduate of Columbia Central High School. He later graduated from Columbia State Community College and attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and sportsman. He was a life-long member of First United Methodist Church. He was married August 28, 1993 to the former Kim Carroll of Columbia. Survivors include his daughter, Savannah Brooke Buchanan of Columbia; his mother, Aylene Butts Buchanan of Columbia; two sisters, Mary Leslie (Randy) Wakefield of Carthage and Bren (Carter) Hardison of Columbia; a brother, Hunter Buchanan of Columbia; nieces and nephews, Britton Hardison, Jason Buchanan, Ann Leslie Wakefield, Will Wakefield and Lucas Wakefield; a great-nephew, Knox Hardison. He was preceded in death by his father, William Henry "Buck" Buchanan. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Whitehead, Dave Hall, Gary Marshall, Paul Lamb, Carl Gifford, Tim Whitehead, Drake Colley, Chris Patterson, Ted Morrow and Chuck Hunter.
