William David Lindsey, 73, retired pharmacist for Reynolds Drugstore and Fred’s Pharmacy and resident of Columbia, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020, at Maury Regional Medical Center. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 19, at noon at Polk Memorial Gardens with Andrew Phillips officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Born Sept. 5, 1947, in Shelby County, Tenn., he was the son of the late James Lindsey and the late Miriam Percer Lindsey. On May 1, 1976, he married Janet Barber Lindsey, who preceded him in death on Dec. 14, 2011. He and his wife owned and operated Reynolds Drugstore until 1996, when he became the pharmacist for Fred’s Pharmacy in Columbia. Mr. Lindsey coached all ages of youth baseball. He was a member of Graymere Church of Christ and Columbia Noon Rotary, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow. Survivors include one daughter and three sons, Laura (Mike) Skillern of South Haven, Mississippi; Jason (Amy) Lindsey of Columbia; Scott (Leigh) Lindsey of Nashville; Houston (Brooke) Lindsey of Lynchburg; sister Barbara (Bill) Donaldson of North Carolina; brother Mike (Jere Lee) Lindsey of Collierville; grandchildren Tyler Martin, Lindsey Martin, Jackson Lindsey, Reagan Lindsey, Lucy Lindsey and Colin Lindsey; and several nieces and nephews.
